K.I.S.S. of the Ruthless!

You might not have guessed from the title that this post will be about "Simplicity".
Most of us are likely familiar with the letters above - standing, of course, for
"Keep It Simple Stupid!"

In the world of network marketing...internet marketing...MLM...cooperative marketing... whatever name you like... it takes very little time to create a highly complicated and confusing environment! Heck, as you can see, even assigning a name to what we do is tricky! It becomes pretty much a personal preference!

It is not enough that many of us are striking out on our own with limited resources and experience. But, we also face a dizzying array of things that we just "MUST" have to succeed!
Next thing you know -- "Simple" is out the door! Hello quagmire!

There is technology to learn. Marketing techniques, both on-line and traditional. Squeeze pages. Google & Yahoo. PPC. Rotators. Joint Ventures. Traffic Generation. Auto-Responders... Aaaaaaarrrrrggggghhh! Not to mention that some may have no experience at talking to a prospective client/partner, being it on the phone, or through e-mail, or even via direct mail. Write a sales letter? -- You must be kidding!

Now, this generally is not the message that a person in my business goes out of his way to convey -- BUT -- Here it is:
Network marketing, while conceptually easy, takes diligence and more than a little effort! In other words, it has complexity, it is real work! And, remember! The more complex you make it -- The harder the work will be!

The good news is that there are some "simple" solutions available!

In my on-line travels, I have come across Mark Joyners outstanding program, Simpleology. As an on-going participant in his program, I get a daily motivational message. Like many, I find it a good thing to have a little jolt to the day that gets your thoughts headed in the right direction!

These messages are always presented throughout the week as being from a mystery person, whose name is ultimately revealed on Friday. Today's message was especially appropriate for this conversation. -- Not sure yet who the mystery person is, but my guess is Ben Franklin.

"All the great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word:

freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope."

Some other "simple" words that we often get to hear on a daily basis are --
family...passion...goals...belief...success.

All of these are simple and yet highly complex. There are, no doubt, many others that leap to mind -- the point here is that whatever the "great thing" may be, it typically is rich with meaning, while being "simple" in essence. We all bring this "simple complexity" along with us. - So how are we get back to simplicity and control in our business -- or, even our lives?


We must become absolutely RUTHLESS!

• Ruthless about identifying to ourselves the one "simple" word that expresses our reason for working in this, or for that matter, any other chosen profession.
• Ruthless at grinding out the distractions that turn our days from simple to complex.
• Ruthless at focusing on a business that meets our goals!
• Ruthless about identifying the resources that contribute to our individual business, and help it to succeed.
• Ruthless in training ourselves to think, and act as successful businessmen by seeking the knowledge of mentors.
• Ruthless in eliminating stress from our lives by properly ordering the things we do.
• Ruthless about training our minds and bodies to maximize our energy.

In short...
Be absolutely Ruthless about taking focused action and putting ourselves in "simply" the best possible position to succeed!
